Our Vision

Joyful Voices Homeschool Choir aims to:

  • Bring joy to children's lives, touching their hearts and minds through uplifting music.

  • Teach basic music reading, theory, vocal, and musical skills.

  • Foster the joy of music.

By gathering weekly and performing on occasion, JVHC plans to help the homeschooling youth of Cache Valley gain a greater love of music, life, and people!

Music will be selected that is of moral and joyful quality, per the directors' judgements.

About the Instructors

Elaine Park, Nibley

Elaine is a homeschool Mom of 4 (plus one graduate!!) who absolutely loves and appreciates good and beautiful LIterature, Art, Nature, Poetry, and most of all…Music. Her joys range from playing piano, dabbling with the guitar, ukelele, flute, violin, and, most of all–singing–in the shower or car, in choirs and on stage in musicals (high school). She also enjoys acting, dancing, gardening, hiking, needlework, and helping run a teeny (but fun!) hobby farm with her husband and children.

She has a Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology with a Minor in Spanish, worked for several years in the public schools and hospital rehab as a Bilingual SLP, and dreams of returning to school within the next few years to earn a degree in Music Therapy.

Even though she thinks her own are the best in all the world, Elaine loves all children. Something on her bucket list has been to direct a Children's Choir…so here we go!!! She can't wait to awaken, enlighten, and celebrate the joy of Music with each child that joins Joyful Voices!!

Montana Delao, Hyrum

Montana has studied music since she was 6. She plays the piano and violin, and has taught both. She grew up performing the violin at various events with her dad and two of her sisters, with mom at the piano.

She counts singing at the piano in her teenage years as one of the most fundamental aspects of her childhood.

She has sung in community choirs, played in community orchestras, accompanied many groups and choirs on the piano, and has played the organ for many years in her church congregation.

She lives in Hyrum, Utah with her husband Steven, with their two sons and a daughter, ages 10, 7, and 4. She loves the way music influences them and seeing its impact on their family.

Montana feels strongly about music, how it heals, and connects the soul to the divine. She has studied sound therapy - how it impacts people in releasing emotions and moving forward. She loves the transformative experience of singing or performing in a group.
